OUR STORY

The Carpinteria Ceramics Collective began with a simple hope:

to create a space where people could come together and make art in a meaningful, accessible, and community-centered way. After nearly a decade working in ceramics, founder Atlas Klapp saw firsthand how powerful creative spaces can be. Pottery studios become more than places to make objects — they become places where people form friendships, share knowledge, slow down, and find a sense of grounding and belonging. Over the years, it became increasingly clear that Carpinteria needed a space like this: somewhere welcoming to complete beginners, working artists, curious kids, tired adults, and anyone seeking creativity and connection. This studio is being built with care and intention. We want it to feel warm, organized, inspiring, and genuinely community-driven. A place where people feel comfortable walking through the door exactly as they are. More than anything, we hope the Collective becomes part of the creative and cultural fabric of Carpinteria for years to come.
